Attend the 91社区 Faculty Colloquium

The 91社区 Faculty Colloquium is a community gathering in support of the creative work, research, and publication of the College's faculty. Hear from Paul Henne, Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Neuroscience, and Janet McCracken, Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Ethics Center.

Join us for the event on Wednesday, October 23 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Tarble Room in Brown Hall.

Celebrate Brain Awareness Week

glassman symposiumAt the end of October, the award-winning academic outreach program Brain Awareness Week returns to campus. Join us for several lectures and other on-campus activities! 

- "Transmission of Misfolded Proteins in Neurodegenerative Disorders: A Common Mechanism of Disease Progression" by Dr. Virginia Lee, PhD, John H. Ware 3rd Endowed Professor in Alzheimer's Research and the Director of the Center of Neurodegenerative Disease Research at the University of Pennsylvania
- "Why Brains Crave Beauty: Learning the Arts and Creativity" by Dr. Gabrielle Starr, PhD, President of Pomona College
"Translating Neurobiological Insights Into How to Aid Children's Executive Functions: How Montessori Had Much of This Right" by Dr. Adele Diamond, PhD, Canada Research Chair Tier I Professor of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia

See the fall play: Blithe Spirit

Blithe SpiritThis year's fall play, Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward, features a hilarious love triangle with a supernatural twist! When an uptight novelist invites a medium to conduct a séance, his life takes an unexpected turn. A mysterious force from the past begins to interfere with his present, leading to hilarious misunderstandings and chaotic encounters. Join us for this uproarious production that's sure to keep you guessing and laughing until the very end. 

The play runs from Thursday, October 31 through Sunday, November 3 in Hixon Hall, with shows at 7 p.m. each day and a matinée on Saturday at 2 p.m. Purchase tickets .
